DESCRIPTION:Event DetailsThis holiday season\, JPL has partnered with Metro Waste Authority to offer a holiday lights drop-off for any old or broken strands of lights you find as you deck the halls. From Nov. 10-Jan. 30\, residents can drop off lights in the collection box located inside the main doors of Johnston Public Library. All lights will then be safely recycled at Metro Waste Authority’s Metro Hazardous Waste Drop-Off. LED\, classic\, plastic\, and glass bulbs as well as net\, icicle\, and battery-powered lights are accepted. Just remember to keep them loose when you drop them in the collection box! DESCRIPTION:Event DetailsThis in-person group is open to aspiring authors of all experience levels. Each participant brings an approximately 1500-word excerpt of their work-in-progress to read aloud. Fellow writers offer constructive critique following each writer's turn. Members may email excerpts to each other ahead of time so those who plan to attend can bring hard copies if they wish. Hard copies with notes are turned over to the writer following each critique. Novelists\, short-story writers\, essayists\, memoirists\, poets—all writers are welcome. This Library program is facilitated by local writer Vic Amoroso.
